The center is managed by the Las Vegas Conventionand Visitors Authority. It is well-known for its versatility. Out of the 2.5 million square feet in exhibit space, 225 meeting areas (more 390,000 sq. ft.) can seat 20-2,500people. Two grand lobby areas and registration areasin the West Hall and one in Central Hall (more then 260,000 square feet each) link existing exhibit halls to newmeeting and exhibit rooms. They allow simultaneous set up, breakdown, and exhibiting multiple events.The Las Vegas Convention Center Act of 1971 authorized the use of $7 million to rebuild, remodel or expand thecenter. The center had hosted 7,000 conventions in 1985, after its opening.In 1993, Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority bought the Landmark closed hotel-casino located opposite the convention centre. LVCVA had the resort demolished in 1995 to develop additional parkingon the site for convention guests. An expansion in 1998 brought the center up to 1.9million sq ft (180,000m2).The Consumer Electronics Show has beenthe most visited annual trade show in this location since 2009 with over 140,000participants.The 14th expansion of its history, the $890 million Las Vegas Convention Centerexpansion was announced in 2018.The expansion will expand thecenter’s meeting space as well as update the building’s design. It will also be connected to the Las Vegas Strip byusing the most up-to-date technology. The authority plans to increase the LVCC’sleadership by creating a LasVegas Global Business District. The plans led to the planned acquisition of Riviera inFebruary 2015, for $182.5 millions.{The LVCC was awarded the Global Biorisk Advisory Council (GBAC) STAR facility accreditation by ISSA, theworld’s leading trade association for the cleaning industry.|ISSA, the largest tradeassociation in the cleaningindustry, awarded the LVCC the Global Biorisk Advisory Council STAR facility accreditation.|ISSA, the leadingtrade association for cleaning industry professionals, gave the LVCC the Global Biorisk Advisory Council STARfacility certification.|ISSA, a leading trade association in the cleaning sector, awarded the LVCC STAR facilityaccreditation from the Global Biorisk Advisory Council.|ISSA is the world’s largest trade association for thecleaning and sanitation industry. The LVCC received the Global Biorisk Advisory Council STAR facility approval. GBAC, which is considered the goldstandard in safe facilities, was developed to manage the risks associated infectious agents. This includes theCOVID-19 virus. The accreditation was awarded to the LVCC as the first Nevada facility.The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority will continue to provide accessible facilities forvisitors with disabilities.Parking spaces for the disabled for both regular vehicles and vans are available at our facilities for properlyidentified vehicles.The Las Vegas Convention Center offers a spectrum of high quality services complimenting itsconvention andmeeting facilities. Every culinaryneed canbe satisfied with the full-service kitchen, two restaurants seating over 1,300, 18 concession stand, and a Starbuckscoffee shop. You can request badges or badge holders and a master antenna system foryour event.With a focus on reducing its fuel consumption the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority promotes the useof alternate energy and currently 90% of its vehicles are being powered by electric or propane. The LVCCshowcased its Electronic Vehicle Charging Station, thanks to a grant from Consumer ElectronicAssociation. The trend of resortpartners, such as Mandalay Bay Resorts (MGM Resorts), ARIA, Mandalay Beach, Palazzo and Mandalay Bay(MGM Resorts), is increasing in Las Vegas to offer EV charging stations free of charge to visitors.
